Apple® iPhone® 4 Pantech 4G LTE. Verizon Wireless USB760 Modem. To download USB drivers online, navigate to the VZAccess Manager download site. Download the latest Apple iPhone 4 device drivers (Official and Certified). Apple iPhone 4 drivers updated daily. Download Now. So is there a separate 'modem' or LAN adapter driver for the iPhone I can install without having to put the whole of iTunes onto each PC? Use WinRAR or similar to extract the 'AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi' out of the iTunesSetup.exe for iTunes 8.2 Simply install the 'AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi' on each of the PC's. That way none of them need iTunes installed.:) This allows USB tethering as per the OP's wish. On the other hand, this isn't required at all for Bluetooth tethering as has been previously stated. I'm trying the exact same thing, but it looks like itunes is installing something somewhere. Ie: I tried just the mobile drivers package and it does install the Apple mobile ethernet driver, which does show up in the networking tab, but it insists 'network cable unplugged'. ![]() I then tried installing itunes, and it works! Removing just itunes and the apple update software also continues to work, but removing Quicktime kills it! This was the case on two independent PCs (both running Windows XP). I'm thinking that Apple installs some file or registry setting that gets deleted, but I'm surprised that removing Quicktime breaks it. Any thoughts? I can't stand the bloat of iTunes, especially on a little PC such as my EEE. As posted above, it seems iTunes or Quicktime (or both) are adding something which enables the network connection. The only way round this I think is to try one of those uninstaller apps which can report on all changes (drivers, registry etc) made by an installation (iTunes and Quicktime) then figure out which one is needed to enable the network connection. Its a bit of a PITA. From what ncnmra says, it may be just something in Quicktime. Anyone care to try just Quicktime + modem drivers to confirm? If not I will try this at the weekend and post back. I am in the same boat. ITunes is a high price to pay. It installs a bunch of services and start-up programs on the PC and messes up file and protocol associations and the web browser's ability to download and play media. With regards to file types, it's not difficult to go to Control Panel->QuickTime->File Types and disassociate Quicktime with MP3, AVI etc. If you install Quicktime manually before installing iTunes, you even get to select which filetypes you want Quicktime to handle, so you don't need to fix it later. I can't remember the last time Quicktime Player asked me to upgrade to Pro. Are you sure it still does that, because I just watched a few.movs here and didn't see anything at all? Making Quicktime play nice in Windows is very easy these days, I don't understand why people go to such lengths to avoid it – old habits die hard I guess. Hi guys, hoping someone here can help. I have itunes on my PC, but want to enable tethering on my wife's EEE netbook without having to install itunes. I downloaded the above mentioned file and installed it. I have rebooted (several times since then) The EEE recognises the iphone and asks what application I want to use for the camera/photos on the iPhone. It does not recognise that there's a modem or network connetion. When I plug the USB cord into my PC instead it instantly tethers. Plug the USB into the EEE and nothing. I have installed the.msi and rebooted so what else can I do? Wife's EEE doesn't have built in bluetooth, but I bought a dongle and installed enclosed BlueSoleil software. It picks up the presense of a smartphone but does not do anything, it's not pairing properly. My PC has bluetooth but does not pick up the iphone at all – clearly there are bluetooth issues with the iphone (which I knew). I'm quite happy with USB – just want to get it working. Thanks for all tips Simon. Does anyone know how to stop iTunes opening / synching when you plug the phone in to recharge? When the iPhone is connected, select the iPhone from the left pane in itunes and then select the summary tab (top right) and then deselect Automatically sync when iPhone is connected. Or Edit/Preferences (CTL+,) in itunes and then select the Devices tab and select Prevent iPods and iPhones from syncing automatically. If you prefer not to have ANY device launch iTunes upon connection, try disabling the service ' iPod Service'. Press Windows key + r to launch the Run dialog 2. Type services.msc and press Enter 3. Right-click the service and select Properties 4. Select Disabled from the Startup type drop-down. Stop the service by clicking the Stop button then try connecting your mobile while iTunes isn't running. Cheers, Darren. Thanks for the detailed reply Darren. I certainly meant the second one – stopping itunes from opening. I did know how to control the synch (I realise my question was unclear). I will follow your instructions. I've never played with services in XP before.
