I just bought my Presonus Audiobox today. I am running it through Alesis monitors and my software is Studio One 3. My specs are: 8GB DDR3 RAM i5 4690k processor Extreme6 Motherboard HDD (Software is Installed Here) SSD When I strum a note on my guitar, I hear it almost a half a second afterward. My PC runs much more complex software and games at maximum settings at 60FPS, etc etc. Can anyone help with this latency issue? I am VERY new to the world of audio recording, so be patient with me! There'll be something like Preferences - Audio in the menus in Studio One. There'll be one for buffer size. Generally, put your buffer size LOW for recording (maybe 256), and HIGH for mixing (eg 1024). Larger buffer sizes means you can add more plugins, have many tracks running etc, but the trade off is latency (that half second of delay you are hearing) Smaller buffer sizes means you might get playback issues sooner if you are running lots of tracks/plugins, but there is much less latency, allowing you to record. When you set the buffer size, it will probably even tell you how much latency there will be. Anything under 20ms will be ok for recording, but even less is better. Q: How do I uninstall and reinstall my AudioBox drivers in Windows 7? A: If recording is not working in your DAW (digital audio workstation) software, or if you are experiencing issues such as glitching or other unwanted sounds, the AudioBox driver may need to be uninstalled and reinstalled on your system. Common reasons that it becomes necessary to reinstall the driver include: • • Using the device with a USB hub or extension cable • Using the device with a USB cable other than the included cable • Hardware and/or software changes to your system • Plugging the device into the front panel of a desktop computer In almost all instances, you can simply run the uninstaller, reinstall the driver immediately, and no other steps are necessary. This should only take a couple of minutes and usually solves most driver-related issues. However, if you experience difficulties with the driver's installation process, or if you receive an error message from the installer, follow the steps in this guide to fully uninstall and reinstall the drivers properly. This guide can be used to install all PreSonus AudioBox devices, including: • AudioBox USB • AudioBox 22VSL • AudioBox 44VSL • AudioBox 1818VSL • AudioBox iOne • AudioBox iTwo Additionally, this article can simply be used as a guide to properly install the driver, even if no attempt has been made to install the driver yet. Before uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, please check out, which explains common reasons why the AudioBox might not seem to function properly.
